Inatallation[edit]

Linux[edit]

Download tribler_7.0.2_all.deb from https://www.tribler.org/ and extract the file.

In terminal, type

dpkg -i tribler_7.0.2_all.deb

then it will be purged.

Using[edit]

Linux[edit]

Just type

tribler

in the terminal.

Make a magnet link from a torrent file[edit]

You can change a torrent file into a magnet link by using https://nutbread.github.io/t2m/ or https://torrent2magnet.com/ .

Family filter[edit]

Settings -> GENERAL -> Family filter

Family filter enabled? (requires Tribler restart)

Uncheck this checkbox.

Exit node[edit]

Settings -> ANONYMITY -> Anonymity

Allow Tribler to be an exit node

By allowing Tribler to be an exit node, your computer will act as a proxy for other Tribler users' bittorrent traffic, be it seeding or downloading. Check your local laws and make sure you are aware of the implications of enabling this checkbox.

Uncheck this checkbox unless you use a VPN. You can use a ProtonVPN free tier server with Tribler.

Search bar[edit]

Tribler includes its own search bar ("Search for your favorite content") to search torrent files. Search "frozen" and download it to check if it works well.

Security[edit]

  • How to torrent without my ISP finding out? Without following the reddit route of paying for every false sense of security presented towards them?

>This is not what i expect from a client claiming to protect my privacy.
